Welcome to ADSL Monitor Web Page.

What is ADSL Monitor?
ADSL Monitor is a data gathering application for ADSL routers and modems that support telnet access. It is not a magical tool to fix ADSL problems but a tool to help understand the operation and identify the characteristics of ADSL lines.

ADSL Monitor is not a substitute for statistical analysis programs like Excel, Lotus 123 or Star Office. ADSL Monitor just makes it easier for ADSL users to collect the information needed by these programs.

Why not use SNMP and MRTG or RRDTool?
Some new routers and modems have crippled MIBs and SNMP can't be used with this equipment. As an example of MIB/SNMP crippled routers are SBC's new Speedstream 5100b ( manufactured by Efficient Networks) and SBC's Cayman 3546 ( manufactured by Netopia ) In addition MRTG and RRDTool requires additional configuration and custom scripts.

How can I help in the developing of ADSL Monitor?
You can help a great deal by sending in your comments and suggestions to the e-mail addresses listed in the Help/About menu option. If you have ADSL Monitor working with an unlisted router / modem It will be a great help if you e-mail me your dataconfiguration.cfg ( NOT configuration.cfg ) and preview.txt files.
